Job Summary
Samsung Pay Inc. seeks a Business Development professional with an MBA and experience in sales operations and data management. The Business Development Coordinator will be responsible for reaching out to a large number of Tier 2 Merchants to increase awareness of Samsung Pay.
Samsung Pay is working at over 90% of merchants and Merchant awareness is key.
This candidate will be responsible in administrating the pipeline of opportunities including:

  • Lead generation
  • Cold calling
  • Initiatives set by leadership team

The candidate will build and leverage relationships using key intelligence from external databases as well as internal information with merchants and key business partners to generate leads and initiatives, as well as manage the sales process.

Passionate about mobile payment, the candidate will help us analyze the best opportunities to increase awareness by both merchants and consumers.

Strategic-minded, goal-driven, with good process execution skills and quantitative background to drive analysis, the candidate will drive initiatives with external partners, key merchants but also coordinate internally all initiatives for regular reporting.

The candidate will participate in a large initiative to become a disruptive force behind new and innovative industry movement.  They will be comfortable working in a start-up living within a larger company.  Must not be afraid to use the phone to reach out to partners or internal stakeholders or go in the field to support some of our sales effort.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Analyze data on both our POS acceptance and merchant reach out initiatives to Identify, prioritize and present specific business opportunities
  • Drive data analysis on most transacted merchants
  • Present overall data and progress on a weekly basis
  • Drives reporting on all business development initiatives linked to merchant reach out and acceptance.
  • Own the CRM and drive sales people and brand ambassadors to input the right data.
  • Drive discussions with partners that help us accelerate reach out to merchants
  • Coordinate go-to-market activities in cross-functional teams and take lead on some specific initiatives as project manager and coordinator.
  • Coordinate executive presentations required to gain support for new initiatives.
  • Build business cases and presentations to advocate for funding; track performance/ROI.
  • Establish strong internal partnerships to collaboratively define responsibilities for various partner outcomes with internal teams.
  • Work with other internal teams to execution of chosen initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:
The candidate  brings proven general experience in sales operations, client relationship management and internal stakeholder management delivering against client and internal goals.  In addition, the candidate possesses excellent communication skills, as well as critical problem solving skills. 

  • 3+ years’ sales operation/or business development experience with merchants related initiatives.
  • Very familiar with CRM management, Excel data analysis and Powerpoint
  • Good commercial mindset, with budget or P&L experience
  • Prior experience working with or for merchants and issuers; digital/mobile payment and/or loyalty experience a plus
  • (MBA) post-graduate degree is desired.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence internally and externally
  • Build relationships across all segments within the client's organization
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with high level of success/achievement
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external resources and cross-functional teams
  • Strong pre-sales planning and preparation and strong follow up skills
  • Good selling skills including needs assessment, presentation, handling objections
