Samsung Pay allows consumers to transition to secure mobile payments at nearly all merchant locations. To date, mobile wallets have had extremely low acceptance with merchants utilizing conventional magstripe terminals. With Samsung Pay, consumers can now utilize their mobile devices to pay at existing point-of-sale terminals. To achieve this, Samsung leverages both Near Field Communication (NFC) and a new proprietary technology called Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) to make mobile payments more accessible to merchants and consumers than ever before. Thanks to NFC and Samsung’s proprietary MST technology, Samsung Pay works in far more stores than any other mobile payment service.

Position Description: 

The Operations Support Coordinator will serve as the main source of data curation and management for two areas, Deals & Offers, and Samsung Pay acceptance to support the operations of Samsung Pay’s “Value Added Services”.  Daily responsibilities include sourcing data for Samsung Pay Deals & Offers for curation into the admin portal, sourcing and reporting of acceptance related data including reported payment failures as well as testing results, and scheduling national testing for Samsung Pay.  Additional responsibilities may intermittently include administration of Gift and Loyalty feature portals, Samsung Pay field testing, and Samsung Pay “ambassador” responsibilities such as outreach and in-store troubleshooting.

You will become a Samsung Pay expert both as an SME for Value Added Services, and in Samsung Pay acceptance in stores.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Track customer reported acceptance issues from primary or secondary data sources and maintain the respective databases
  • Interpret Customer Support data to assign testing for specific scenarios for Samsung Pay transactions
  • Document the process of issue resolution from reporting through to testing and analysis
  • Source and curate new deals and offers for Samsung Pay using provided aggregators
  • Curate Gift card and Membership card sections of Samsung Pay
  • Field testing of Samsung Pay in all areas – payment, gift, membership, and deals & offers
  • Be a problem solver – assist in operational “Fire Drills” to get things done
  • Small chance for domestic travel, however likely nothing more than localized field testing.

Qualifications & Desired Skills & Experience:

  • B.S./B.A. Degree
  • 0-1 Years’ experience working in a professional business setting
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, people and documentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to multitask and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Experience with reported metrics and generating action plans from them
  • Keen interest in smart phones and new technology in general

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Familiarity with the payment card industry and the relationship between issuers, processors, acquirers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of retail POS hardware
  • Working knowledge of Android environments
