Job Summary

Samsung Pay Inc. seeks a strategic-minded, goal-driven, and product-minded  Head of Merchant Service Integration & Business Development; a bold leader who is not afraid to be the disruptive force behind new and innovative industry movement.  In this role, you will initiate and drive new relationships with merchants, break through and produce result, and drive the product strategy as it relates to merchant services.  Bring your merchant-focused sales and services experience, team leadership expertise and track record of making things happen into a start-up living within a larger company.  Our ideal candidate has leveraged customer feedback to influence product evolution, provided vision and inspiration, and taken risks. Key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Defining, developing and executing a sales strategy inclusive of identifying market opportunities that will jointly benefit merchants and Samsung Pay Inc.

  • Influencing key product features that will attract merchants to leverage Samsung Pay as a marketing channel to interact with their shoppers.

  • Elevating merchant partnerships, initiate business cases; advocate for funding; track performance/ROI.

  • Inspiring and leading a diverse group of sales and analysis professionals to expect more and deliver despite obstacles.

  • Identifying business opportunities based on payments industry knowledge of clients, markets, products and services.

  • Identifying and prioritizing merchant needs and craft customized solutions that drive active users and increase merchant satisfaction

Qualifications and Skills

The  Head of Merchant Service Integration & Business Development brings proven general management experience, senior client relationship management and leadership of high-performing teams delivering against client and internal goals.  In addition, this leader possesses excellent communication skills, as well as critical problem solving skills.  

  • 10+ years’ external sales/business development experience with product or marketing background, preferably with large merchant clients
  • Strong commercial mindset, with budget or P&L experience
  • Demonstrated ability to identify talent and build high-performing teams
  • 10+ years’ experience with Executive level client and internal constituents
  • Prior experience working with or for merchants and issuers; digital/mobile payment and/or loyalty experience a plus
  • Undergraduate degree; a relevant (MBA) post-graduate degree is desired. 
  • Ability to communicate complex technical/financial concepts with subject-matter experts and convey those concepts to a broad audience
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with high level of success/achievement
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including the ability to manage internal and external resources and cross-functional teams
